2.4.8.15. Recording & Replay Services View (6.0.0 and later)

The views for Recording & Replay Services are identical for version 6.0.0. Each is a Process View, with additional specific controls. Please refer to the Process View for details on the common displays.

Admin Console provides basic administration capabilities for these services. You can pause, resume, and shut down the services remotely. Admin Console also displays the service’s configuration, resource usage, and Distributed Logging messages. Recording Service also provides some database information. To set up Recording Service or Replay Service for Admin Console, verify that administration, monitoring, and Distributed Logging are enabled in the service. See the Recording Service User’s Manual for details on how to enable Administration and Distributed Logging.

Recording service 4 replay entities

The entities tab (above) displays a hierarchical (tree) view of the internal components of the service. It includes columns for the component’s name, throughput in samples per second, throughput in bytes per second, and latency.

Recording service 4 recorder configuration

The configuration tab (above) displays the XML configuration of the service. Please note that it may not exactly match the file that was originally used by the service. Therefore, you may not be able to copy the file to run a new instance of the service directly (due to external references like QoS profiles).

Recording service 4 recorder information

The information tab (above) displays service-specific information in addition to the standard Process Information. Note that Replay Service does not currently provide several of the items, which will show “N/A” if the data is not provided.
