4.5.1. What’s New in 6.1.1

4.5.1.1. Admin Console Help now Viewable as Separate Manual Outside Application

Previously, Admin Console’s documentation was only available within the Admin Console application itself, via the Help menu. The documentation is still available there, but it is now also available as a separate User’s Manual, in HTML format, for easier access outside the application.

4.5.1.2. Validation of macOS 11 on x64 CPUs

This release has validated that the libraries for architecture x64Darwin17clang9.0 can also be used on macOS® 11 (Big Sur) systems with x64 CPUs. For information on this platform, see the RTI Connext DDS Core Libraries Platform Notes for this release.

4.5.1.3. Changes to make data type and QoS parsing robust against XXE attacks

This release includes a set of improvements to the XML parser used for data types and QoS, to make Admin Console robust against eXternal XML Entities (XXEs) attacks. Currently, RTI is not aware of any of these attacks being possible in previous versions of the XML parser used by Admin Console for data types and QoS.

4.5.1.4. Third-Party Software Upgrades

The following third-party software used by Admin Console has been upgraded:

Table 4.4 Third-Party Software Changes

Third-Party Software

Internally, Admin Console relies on Eclipse, which uses log4j 1.2.15. RTI has assessed that dependency and found that Admin Console is not currently affected by publicly disclosed vulnerabilities in log4j 1.2.15.

Some of these upgrades may fix potential vulnerabilities. See Fixes related to vulnerabilities.
