1. Introduction

In addition to the traditional installation methods, RTI® Connext® Professional can also be installed using native Debian® packages downloaded from RTI’s public APT repository.

This documentation details how to install Connext on Debian Linux® systems. It also applies to other distributions based on Debian, such as Ubuntu®.

1.1. Before you Begin

To install and load Connext using an RTI Debian package, you must have:

• Access to RTI’s public APT repository. See Enable Repository Access for instructions.

• A valid RTI license file. If you need an evaluation license, see Loading Connext.

1.2. Paths Mentioned in Documentation

• /opt/rti.com/rti_connext_dds-<version>: The Connext installation directory.

• <path to rti_license.dat>: Wherever noted, replace with the path to your RTI license file.
