2. Installation
Cloud Discovery Service is not installed as part of a Connext package, unless you are
installing a license-managed (“lm”) package
(such as rti_connext_dds-<version>-lm-x64Win64VS2017.exe),
which includes Cloud Discovery Service.
2.1. Installing a License-Managed Version
Install the “lm” package as described in the RTI Connext Installation Guide. The package includes Cloud Discovery Service. It is a target-specific package, which ensures you have access to the correct binary library/executable for your platform.

2.2. Installing a Commercial Version
Cloud Discovery Service must be downloaded and installed separately. Contact support@rti.com for information on how to obtain a Cloud Discovery Service package for your platform.
There are two ways to install RTI’s Cloud Discovery Service package: using RTI Launcher or the
rtipkginstall command-line utility. For each of the methods, make sure that
you install the correct host and target for your environment.

2.2.1. Installing from RTI Launcher
To install Cloud Discovery Service from RTI Launcher:
Start RTI Launcher from the Start menu or from the command line, by running:
<NDDSHOME>/bin/rtilauncher.From Launcher’s Configuration tab, click on Install RTI Packages.
Use the + sign to add the
.rtipkgfile(s) that you want to install.Click Install.
2.2.2. Installing from the command line
To install Cloud Discovery Service from the command line, run:
$NDDSHOME/bin/rtipkginstall \
/<path-to-cloud-discovery-service>/rtipkgfile.rtipkg
2.3. Installing a Container Image
Cloud Discovery Service is available as a container-based deployment. The image and installation instructions are available on RTI’s Docker Hub repository.
2.4. Other dependencies
Cloud Discovery Service may have dependencies on other packages as follows:
RTI TLS support and OpenSSL: If using TLS as a transport.
RTI Security and OpenSSL: If using the Security provisions provided by Cloud Discovery Service.
