4.24. Other

4.24.1. [Critical] AppAck messages exceeded underlying transport message size

A new property, dds.data_reader.appack_keep_last_payload, has been added. When enabled, the DataReader will only keep the last payload used to acknowledge a sample. This means that if multiple samples are acknowledged with different payloads, the DataReader will discard all acknowledged payloads except for the last one.

This is useful for reducing the size of AppAck messages and serves as a workaround for the known issue AppAck messages cannot be greater than underlying transport message size. The message size is reduced because an AppAck message contains a list of sequence number intervals. By discarding all payloads except the last one, Connext can collapse consecutive samples—acknowledged without a payload or with discarded payloads—into a single interval.

4.24.2. [Trivial] Incorrect partition labels in DDS Spy

This issue was fixed in release 7.5.0, but not documented at that time.

DDS Spy displayed incorrect partition labels when a “New writer,” “New reader,” or “New data” was received. “New writer” and “New data” displayed an S (subscription) instead of a P (publication). “New Reader” displayed a P instead of an S.
