RedHat® Enterprise Linux 8 (with “devtoolset-9” toolset)
Windows® 8.1
Windows 10
Windows 11
macOS® version 11.6 (“Big Sur”) and higher
and the following platforms with arm64 CPUs:
macOS® version 11.6 (“Big Sur”) and higher
5.2. What's New in 4.0.0
There are no changes in AUTOSAR Runtime Adaptive Code Generator in release 4.0.0.
5.3. Previous Releases
5.3.1. What's New in 3.1.1
5.3.1.1. Added support for DDS-XML to ARXML type conversion
Conversion of all DDS-XML supported types to Adaptive Platform ARXML is now supported, except for the following:
wchar
wstring
longDouble
bitfield
This new feature allows you to automatically port existing DDS type libraries in DDS-XML file format to AUTOSAR ARXML, avoiding a time-consuming and error-prone manual process.
5.3.1.2. Improved support for DDS deployment configuration
The following DDS Service Interface and Instance Deployment attributes are now supported:
Subclass |
Attributes |
Description |
|---|---|---|
DdsServiceInterfaceDeployment |
fieldRequestTopicName, fieldReplyTopicName, methodRequestTopicName, and methodReplyTopicName |
These attributes define the customizable name suffix of the Topics used in method- and field-based communication. |
DdsProvidedServiceInstance |
discoveryType and resourceIdentifierType |
These attributes define the discovery mechanism (Topic- or Participant-based) and the binding mechanism (Partition, Topic, or InstanceId). |
DdsRequiredServiceInstance |
discoveryType and blocklistedVersion |
These attributes define the discovery mechanism (Topic- or Participant-based) and the blocklisted (that is, ignored during discovery) Service Interface versions. |
These new attributes make Adaptive Application deployments using RTI's DDS Network Binding Library more configurable in run-time, allowing changes in DDS Topic naming and discovery without the need to regenerate and recompile application sources.
5.3.1.3. Third-party software changes
The following third-party software used by the AUTOSAR Runtime Adaptive Code Generator has been upgraded:

5.3.2. What's New in 3.1.0
5.3.2.1. AUTOSAR Runtime Adaptive Code Generator no longer experimental
The AUTOSAR Runtime Adaptive Code Generator is no longer experimental as of this release. You may now use AUTOSAR Runtime Adaptive Code Generator in production systems.
5.3.2.2. Code generation now moved out of source tree
Code produced by rtiaragen is now located in CMake's build tree.
5.3.2.3. Third-party software changes

5.3.3. What's Fixed in 3.1.0
5.3.3.1. ANSI control characters in non-Xterm environments disturbed log output
Terminal environments not compatible with Xterm ANSI control characters (such as the Windows command prompt) don't use these anymore, resulting in cleaner log output.
[RTI Issue ID APIT-232]
5.3.3.2. ddsTypeSupport flag used incorrect rtiddsgen
Previously, when using the -ddsTypeSupport flag, rtiaragen and rtiarcgen
attempted to run rtiddsgen from Connext Micro, assuming it was available in
the system's PATH. However, most operating systems check the executable directory
first, and in the Connext Professional installation, a different, unsupported
version of rtiddsgen is available under $NDDSHOME/bin/.
This issue has been fixed in this release by adding the environment varible
RTIDDSGEN_PATH, which you will need to set, with the path to rtiddsgen
from Connext Micro, in order to use the flag -ddsTypeSupport.
[RTI Issue ID APIT-281]
5.3.3.4. CMake command add_aragen() did not support multiple input ARXML files
The CMake command add_aragen() now supports multiple input ARXML files.
[RTI Issue ID APIT-293]
5.3.3.5. Missing root namespace qualifier
Generated code for DDS event deployments in AMSR did not fully qualify the event type with the correct namespace, resulting in compiler errors.
[RTI Issue ID APIT-299]
5.3.3.6. Incorrect case in generated file names
rtiaragen generated files with names non-conforming to AUTOSAR specifications, specifically with the wrong case, which made builds fail in case-sensitive filesystems.
[RTI Issue ID APIT-303]
5.3.3.7. Crash instead of logging for duplicate model entities
When the same ARXML model entity was defined twice (i.e., same name and package path), rtiarcgen/rtiaragen crashed. Now, these gracefully warn about the duplication, instead of crashing.
