RTI Connext Micro (formerly RTI Micro Edition) is a small-footprint messaging solution for resource-limited platforms. It provides the communications services that programmers need to distribute time-critical data between embedded and/or enterprise devices or nodes.

RTI Connext Micro implements the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS) and Real-Time Publish-Subscribe (RTPS) wire interoperabilty protocol standards to make data distribution efficient and robust.

RTI Documentation and DDS Introduction

RTI Community provides many resources for users of RTI to succeed, including documentation introducing DDS. New users can start by going to RTI Documentation, downloading the Core Libraries and Utilities User's Manual for RTI Connext DDS, and reading Parts 1 (Introduction) and 2 (Core Concepts). These sections teach basic concepts of DDS applicable to all RTI middleware, including RTI Connext DDS and RTI Connext Micro.

OMG DDS Specification

For the original DDS reference, the OMG DDS specification can be found in the Catalog of OMG Specifications under "Middleware Specifications".

New to RTI Connext Micro?

API Reference

Because RTI Connext Micro is a small-footprint DDS implementation, features that are available in RTI Connext DDS may not be supported in RTI Connext Micro. There are also features unique to RTI Connext Micro. Thus, users of RTI Connext Micro should consult the RTI Connext Micro DDS C API Reference the API Guide, and RTI Connext Micro DDS C++ API Reference for APIs and QoS supported by RTI Connext Micro.
