Combine DDS (Connext) with WebSockets

Hello,

we are interested in DDS (Connext) and would like to know whether it is possible to combine DDS (Connext) with websockets, and if so, where can we find information? Can you provide some links or chapter in the DDS Connext manual?

Thanks a lot!

Regards

Mat

Hi Mat,

We have 2 products that can create a connection with the web, Web Integration Service (using a RESTfull API) and Connector (that allows you to integrate with Javascript, Python, etc.).

As of today, Web Integration Service (WIS) is not supporting websockets, but it is in our roadmap. If you could share with us your timeline we could feed that back to our engineering team. Since you seems to be in Europe, I am your FAE. So feel free to send me an email to sara@rti.com and I will follow up with you.

With that in mind, the best solution today would be to use Connector's node.js integration. You can use this Labs product directly from our github repository: https://github.com/rticommunity/rticonnextdds-connector

Please give it a try and let us know your feedback. Or reach me over email!
