We are excited to announce the availability of RTI Connext® 7.4 EAR, the first feature release in our code named Jackson Hole series of releases, leading up to our next Long-Term Support (LTS) version in 2026. This is an Early Access Release (EAR), designed for use in development rather than production environments. We encourage you to download Connext 7.4 EAR, explore the new features, and share your feedback with us to help shape the next LTS version.
New Capabilities in Connext 7.4 EAR:
Easily Send Data of Any Size without considering special QoS settings.
Enhanced MTU Size for Real-Time WAN Transport, now at 1400 bytes, eliminates the need to manually adjust MTU sizes, avoiding IP fragmentation in most networks.
Productized Modern C++ RPC API includes service discovery, simplifying the development of client-server architectures.
Streamlined Application Design in System Designer offers pre-defined templates, categories and labels to expedite project creation and QoS parameter discovery.
Granular Access Control and Security Permissions in Security Plugins enable you to better manage access and permissions in large-scale, dynamically grouped applications by using participant partition-based access control, domain tags and explicit identity permissions.
Better Organized QoS categorizes QoS fields (as related to performance, latency, memory management, and so on) in the API Reference documentation, making it easier to find the QoS for your use case.
True to our long-term support (LTS) model, we release an LTS version every two years with our latest advancements, accompanied by 7 years of maintenance and support, with the possibility of extending it up to 12. We recommend LTS versions for systems in production. Next LTS version in this series of releases will be Connext 7.7 LTS. For more details, see Connext Releases.
