Troubleshoot Connext Pro: Why am I having issues sending large data?

Submitted by dgreenberg on Fri, 09/01/2023 - 11:04

This article summarizes common reasons why an application may have issues when sending large data. There are some common scenarios, such as IP fragmentation, asynchronous publication, etc...

Common Scenarios:

  1. IP fragmentation affecting transmit, implement DDS fragmentation

  2. A FlowController needed, along with Asynchronous publishing

  3. Network stack might need configuration (Linux) (QNX)

  4. Reliability not applied to Topic

  5. Not using FlatData/shared memory (feature permitted)

  6. Not using a built in profile

Other Suggested Resources:

  1. What do I need to send large data successfully?

  2. High-priority flow controller

  3. Custom flow controllers

  4. Asynchronous writers

  5. Threading model for asynchronous publishing

  6. Asynchronous publisher example

  7. High-priority flow controller example
