Why do I see error messages about unreachable destinations?
Note: Applies to RTI Data Distribution Service 4.1.
If you start an application with shared memory as the only transport and then start a second application with a multicast address in NDDS_DISCOVERY_PEERS
or in the multicast_receive_addresses
field in the Discovery QosPolicy on the same node, you may experience communication problems between the two applications or see error messages about unreachable destinations.
If there are local applications with shared memory as the only transport, ensure that all other applications on the same host do not specify a multicast address in NDDS_DISCOVERY_PEERS
or in the multicast_receive_addresses
field in the Discovery QosPolicy.
This is a known issue in RTI Data Distribution Service 4.1. It has been resolved in version 4.2.
